About the Immigration Social Service, Inc.

Established in 1972 in response to the rapid influx of Chinese immigrant families in NYC Manhattan’s Lower East Side and Chinatown, the Immigration Social Service, Inc. (ISS) is a charitable organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of underserved immigrants and their children. Through a variety of programs and services, ISS empowers individuals across multiple generations, fostering their agency and strengthening community well-being.

In collaborating with parents/guardians, educators, and community stakeholders, ISS creates a supportive environment that promotes the well-being and success of immigrant children.

By ensuring their staff team reflects the diverse experiences of the community they serve, ISS aims to provide culturally responsive and relevant services that promote academic excellence, social skills development, and civic engagement among immigrant children and youth.
